SUSTAINABILITY POLICY
The Arenal Manoa Hotel is a company dedicated to hospitality and services in the San Carlos, Alajuela area, which has a constant commitment to excellence and responsibility. This sustainable policy document sets out a comprehensive framework designed to guide our operations in the interest of sustainability, identifying the interconnection of the impacts and opportunities that the company generates, in four fundamental areas: economic, social, cultural and environmental. Recognizing the fragility of the surrounding ecosystems, we assume the responsibility of not exerting undue pressure on them, with the fundamental purpose of minimizing any negative impact on nature.
SUSTAINABLE POLICIES FOR THE OPERATION OF THE ARENAL MANOA HOTEL.

Article #1: Contribute to conserving the flora and fauna, ecosystems and landscapes of Costa Rica, promoting local biodiversity and reducing the need for irrigation and pesticides.
Article #3: Animal species that inhabit their natural environment will not be fed artificially. Efforts will be made to maintain the integrity of their natural diet.
Article #5: Promote smoke-free spaces throughout the property.
Article #7: Implement LED lighting systems, occupancy sensors, and promote the disconnection of unused devices.
Article #13: Raise awareness about water conservation, aimed at both guests and employees, by placing signs in rooms, offices, and common areas.
Article #20: Obtain internationally recognized sustainability certifications.
Article #22: Establish regulations that reduce waste generation and encourage recycling practices among both team members and guests.
Article #31: Provide guests with knowledge about local history and culture, thus fostering mutual respect and understanding.
Article #32: Support cultural, sports and/or environmental activities organized in the community, as well as establish alliances with nearby communities for the acquisition of local artisanal products and participation in cultural events.
Article #37: Comply with and promote ethical and labor standards, both among employees and with service and product providers, as well as with the Hotel’s guests.
Article #39: Ensure and act against the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents among employees and guests, guaranteeing a safe and respectful environment.
Article #48: Implement digital marketing strategies and advertising campaigns to highlight the region’s attractions.
The sustainability guidelines adopted by the Arenal Manoa Hotel encapsulate comprehensive commitments in the economic, environmental and sociocultural spheres. These policies reflect the philosophy of a sustainable business, meticulously considering the impacts on the environment and society.
